On Sunday, August 29th, around noon, the Davis ranch opened its gates to hundreds of cars and more than 1,000 people who parked at the bottom of Pine Creek Road and were shuttled up the mountain to the Paradise Valley Music Festival. The event, which was a fundraiser for Park County rural education, boasted the musical talents of The David Grisman Quintet, The Infamous Stringdusters, and James McMurtry at the Luccock Park Camp. Concert-goers flocked to the field at the foot of the stage, throwing down blankets and setting up chairs to enjoy the sunny, brisk day.
