Night Owl Run

If you have never experienced the Night Owl Run here in Livingston you are missing out! One of this year’s non-local participants, Jenna Vandenberg blogged about it on her running blog runningthroughthisworld.com (http://runningthroughthisworld NULL.com). She gives a great overview of the race and Livingston. Here is an excerpt from her blog post:

This run had better be worth it, I’m thinking as I wind further and further south into Montana, putting even more hours between me and my friend’s house in Great Falls. Part of me wanted to bag the whole thing and just head up north. Small town races have the potential to be a little boring, especially if it’s not YOUR small town.

This was not the case with the Night Owl Run. It’s a good thing I’d kept the car trained towards Livingston…

Kitten Foster Families Needed

September 27, 2011
by: Community Contributor

If you have an enclosed space that can be separate from your pets, Stafford Animal Shelter needs temporary foster homes for bottle baby kittens and nursing moms and babies. It’s hard work to follow all the medical protocol, feed them frequently and keep them clean and dry but SO rewarding to save little, furry, mewling lives! Please email staffordshelter@imt.net or phone Angie Sue at 222-2111 if you are interested. They also need foster homes for some special needs dogs who do poorly in the Shelter environment. They don’t have to be separated from your dogs, but some don’t do well with cats. THANKS for considering SAVING LIVES!

Upholstery Demonstration

by: Buy Local

Do you want to learn upholstery?

Bring new life to… your old favorite chair that is worn & tattered… a unique piece you picked up at a yard sale that really needs a make-over… a thrift store find that’s almost perfect, but not quite.

If you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to restore or reinvent your treasure, here’s a local event just for you: an upholstery demonstration that will open doors to the possibilities for revitalizing your furniture.

Come to our upholstery demonstration hosted at Truex Furniture, 124 South Main Street in downtown Livingston during the Livingston Art Walk September 23, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Local ‘Upholstery Stylist’ Carla Pyle, along with two of her students, will re-upholster a simple side chair in two hours! And they will illustrate the beginning steps in an office chair make-over. Carla will explain basic upholstery tools and their uses as well as different types of materials and fun new fabrics available for an amazing transformation.

Interested in a taking a class? During the demonstration, aspiring ‘students of design’ will have the opportunity to sign up for a beginner upholstery class offered by Carla at her Livingston studio in October. Plan to take your own finished project home after the class. Your chair will need to be pre-approved ahead of time for level of difficulty. Class size is limited, but additional classes will be scheduled to meet demand. Bring any questions you may have about the upholstery class to the Art Walk demonstration or email Carla (carla null@null livinghomefurniture NULL.com?subject=Upholstery%20Class) for more information.
